The Singing Tree - June 7th at Bandon City Park

The Singing Tree; Building on our Strengths, Stimulating New Thinking and Creating Community Revitalization

New Community Coalition invites you to be part of creating a county-wide art project to design a SINGING TREE MURAL to be installed in 2016. Share your stories, ideas, words and drawings to address the question, "How can our community be as beautiful as our natural environment."

This is a community revitalization strategy grounded in relationship building across sectors. The end result is a community-built art installation and celebration event at the newly opened Coos Historical Museum in spring of 2016.
 
It will be highly publicized and all sectors of our community will be invited to participate in Conversations that Matter, create elements of the Singing Tree, and participate in the installation and celebration. We envision documenting the process in video and in the publication of community stories, visions and dreams.  

These conversations will make our interconnections visible and will lead to new ideas and inspiration that will stimulate new thinking about unmet needs and the potential for small business development and expansion.  Most importantly, it will signal the beginning of the next chapter of our community’s evolution where we will build an economic and social ecosystem patterned after nature. Our intention is to create a micro-climate of possibility and abundance by using the Singing Tree project and process to increase connections, break-down barriers, support emerging businesses and create synergies that lead to a vibrant self-reliant community.
