BANDON, Ore. -- As Matt Winkel has retired, the City of Bandon has a new city manager for the first time in over twenty years.

Winkel passed the baton to Christopher Good last week.

"They are big shoes to fill, but I hope that I can grow into them," Good said.

Good's resume includes 15 years working for the City of Reno.

While quiet Bandon is a far cry from the bright lights of Reno, Good says it won him over immediately.

"When I came here for the interview and to get to know the town a little bit better, I was just really struck. The town charmed my socks off."

He says he is working closely with his predecessor to get to know all things "Bandon."

"He made a list of about 42 ongoing projects that we have been going through one by one so he can bring me up to date. There's a lot going on. We do need to solve the problem of the finances and the utilities. We need to keep those utilities running efficiently and properly and we need to take care of our infrastructure."

Good says he's excited to help the city move forward.
