Planning Commission
Bandon Planning Commission Bandon Planning Commission Helping Shape the City's Future Good planning is essential for effective communities. Every city has the responsibility to decide how to use its land and guide the form and shape the city will take in the future. The Planning Commission is entrusted to help set land-use goals and evaluate individual project proposals to ensure that they are consistent with the City's adopted plan. Almost every decision of the Commission must strike a balance between private benefit and the overall public good. The 7 member Planning Commission meets the fourth Thursday of each month at City Hall at 7:00 P.M. and is responsible for: Hold open meetings for public planning requests. Hold hearings on land use applications. Interpret the City of Bandon Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance to ensure conformance in land development. Advisory to the City Council. Under ORS 244.050, all City of Bandon Planning Commissioners must file an "Annual Verified Statement of Economic Interest," and a "Quarterly Public Official Disclosure Form" with the Oregon Government Ethics Commission. Parks and Recreation
Parks and Recreation Commission This is a 7 member Standing Committee, and all seven members must reside within the City Limits. The primary function of the Parks and Recreation Commission shall be to plan for both long-range and immediate improvements and development of city parks and recreation programs. Such plans shall be submitted yearly to the city council for review and consideration for the following fiscal year. The Commission is also responsible for plans to develop new parks and recreation programs.

Water Resource Committee
Water Resource Committee The primary function of the Water Resource Committee is to plan for, and advise the Mayor and City Council and the City Manager on water quality, supply, resources, and watershed protection issues. The Water Resource Committee meets every other month (more often if the Council or Committee members deem it necessary).
Committee on Citizen Involvement
Committee for Citizen Involvement (CCI) The Committee for Citizen Involvement is a 7 member standing committee. Committee membership includes one member of the City Council, one member from the Planning Commission, two members selected from the City's standing committees, and three at large members from the public. As part of their responsibilities, the Committee for Citizen Involvement ensures the Citizen Involvement Program required by the Bandon Comprehensive Plan is implemented. The Committee for Citizen Involvement meets at least bi-monthly in an open public meeting and more often if the Council or Committee determines it necessary.
