General Information
REGULAR MEETINGS: The Bandon Planning Commission meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber at Bandon City Hall, 555 Highway 101, Bandon, Oregon.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Council Chamber is accessible to the disabled. Enhanced listening devices are available. For special services contact City Hall (347-2437, extension 227, Voice; or 711 TT Users) or e-mail the City Recorder (recorder (at) ci.bandon.or.us) 48 hours in advance.
PUBLIC REQUESTS:
The items listed here are limited land use requests, such as plan reviews, lot line adjustments, minor partitions, and other requests not requiring a hearing. The Planning Department must receive complete applications 30 days in advance of the meeting at which the applicant wishes to be heard by the Planning Commission. A notice of the review is sent to property owners within an area of 100 feet of the application property. After the review a notice of decision is sent to the property owners in the notice area. The decision can be appealed within 10 days of the mailing of the decision notice by persons who participated in the meeting by testimony or written comment. Some applications may be reviewed by the Hearings Officer who has been given authority by the Planning Commission to act on their behalf for certain types of applications. These will be reviewed by the Planning Commission under the consent agenda. The appeal of a Hearings Officer decision will be the same as that for the Planning Commission.
PUBLIC HEARINGS:
The items listed here are more complex requests, such as conditional uses, variances, subdivisions, zone changes, comprehensive plan changes, and other requests that require a hearing by the Commission. The Planning Department must receive complete applications 30 days in advance of the meeting at which the applicant wishes to be heard by the Planning Commission. A notice of the hearing is sent to property owners within an area of 250 feet of the application parcel. After the hearing a Final Order of approval, or denial, is prepared by staff. These are then signed by the Hearings Officer, who has been given the authority by the Planning Commission. The decision can be appealed within 10 days of the mailing of the decision notice by persons who participated in the hearing by testimony or written comment.
